Data showcasing how the three most populated U.S. cities have been impacted by COVID-19 in regard to their populations.

The United States has been largely impacted by COVID-19, totaling over 29 million cases on March 15, 2021, CDC says. The current population of United States is 330,139,614 according to the U.S. Census.

Of those cases, the CDC has confirmed 532,355 deaths due to COVID-19.

The three current largest cities in the United States are New York city with 8.366 million people, Los Angeles with 3.979 million people, and Chicago with 2.693 million people. Totaling those populations, 15.010 million people make up 4.5% of the nation’s population within the three cities.

These three largest cities make up for 8.6% of the nation’s COVID-19 deaths. These large and congested cities can be considered COVID-19 hotspots and require extra caution and safety. It may already be difficult to social distance, let alone on a subway train during rush hour.

The following infographic provides an idea of how these cities have been affected by COVID-19; including confirmed cases, deaths, and tests performed. The infographic also has a video diving into the concern of COVID-19 in the United States, its spread, and what that may mean for governing bodies protecting U.S. citizens.
